Noted, a social music discovery app that makes it easier for friends to discover and share songs, today announces its launch. This announcement comes after raising additional capital and includes partnerships with blogs, artists and music industry businesses.
Noted, formerly known as Nusiki, features a sleek, social-based UX along with exclusive technology that combines the best of social and algorithm-based discovery to consistently provide users with music they like from people they trust.
Created by a group of friends who grew tired of having to jump through hoops while sharing music, the Noted team spent the last year streamlining music sharing and messaging. By combining music libraries, friends and a “secret sauce” that learns your musical tastes as you engage, Noted blends the best of social media and technology.
“Over the last year, we’ve worked with tens of thousands of users, artists, labels and industry partners and learned that it matters who introduces you to a song,” said Co-founder/CEO Ben Hewitt. “But people don’t want to have to dig too far for new music. Complementing simplified music sharing with advanced technology is a huge step forward for personalized online music discovery”.
With so many libraries and messaging options available, sharing music is more complicated than it should be. While music libraries are great to listen to, they lack compelling social features. Social networks are good for sharing, but provide a mediocre listening experience. Noted provides a music-specific platform to seamlessly discover and listen to music from multiple libraries and friends in one place. Users post songs from various available sources and follow friends to discover what they are listening to. Noted differentiates from other social music discovery platforms by learning as users engage with songs to provide a customized social music experience.
“Music is part of the human experience. Everyone has songs that remind them of people, places or memories,” said Co-founder/CTO Tim Welch. “Noted captures the human elements of music sharing, but as you like and post songs, we use the benefits of technology to learn and provide a smarter, more personalized way to find new music.”
Music fans can visit http://www.Noted.fm or download the app in the App Store or Google Play for free starting March 24th.
