SOUTHERN NEVADA BLUEGRASS MUSIC SOCIETY TO HOST 2ND ANNUAL “VIVA LAS VEGRASS” BLUEGRASS MUSIC FESTIVAL
LAS VEGAS – The Southern Nevada Bluegrass Music Society has announced that the second annual “Viva Las VeGrass” Bluegrass Music Festival will be held at Craig Ranch Park from 10 am Friday, October 12 until 5 pm Sunday October 14, 2018.
This “green bluegrass” festival will feature non-stop music performed by local, regional and national bluegrass groups on a solar powered stage. The event will showcase artisans and craftspeople focused on recycled art, organic products and crafts, food trucks and a beer garden in addition to community style art projects.
Last year’s event was marred by the tragic Route 91 mass shooting on the Las Vegas Strip. Viva Las VeGrass was the first outdoor music event held just days later. SNBMS donated 100% of the ticket proceeds to the Las Vegas Shooting Victims Fund and even started a separate GoFundMe page that challenged bluegrass organizations nationwide to collectively match their donation. They presented a check for nearly $7,000 to Deacon Tom Roberts of Catholic Charities, Co-Chair of the Victims Fund on January 18, 2018 at their annual meeting.
Tickets are $20 per day or $50 for a 3 day pass; children under 12 receive free admission. 702-497-4804RV Parking is available for $60 for 4 days and tent camping is free. For more information visit www.vivalasvegrass.org or www.eventbrite.com.
