Embarking on a new adventure, The Florida Wine Academy is leaving the beaches of Miami and taking to the sea the WSET Level 1 on the Royal Caribbean’s “Mariner of the Seas”. On the way to the Bahamas, the WSET Level 1 teaches enthusiasts the major grape varieties, wine regions, and food & wine pairings, such as what wine goes best with a beach day. Guests will get to taste through ten different wines and leave their vacation not only feeling relaxed, but accomplished. The WSET has also partnered with luxury travel brand Cunard—which is already renowned for having one of the finest wine lists at sea—to offer Level 1 & 2 courses on its flagship ocean liner, the Queen Mary 2.
With the WSET’s Study & Stay program, travelers are able to learn about wines whilst admiring the expansive views of the vines the sunny classroom in a traditional farmhouse in Auberge du Vin, Mazan, France . WSET Certified Educator, Linda Field runs WSET Level 1 Award in Wines on demand most Fridays throughout the year with ‘study and stay’ two night packages including breakfast and lunch. Vacationers will have a chance to taste local wines, speak with their winemakers, and hear about the latest developments in the vineyards and wineries to create a lasting impression of the course and increase their understanding of wine.
