Orpheus, a secluded island hideaway set in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef will host unWINEd, a bespoke wine event showcasing three leading lights of the Australian wine industry, from 18 to 22 June 2015.
Over three days, Kym Schroeter (Penfolds Wines), Tom Carson (Yabby Lake & Heathcote Estate) and Larry Cherubino (Cherubino & Robert Oatley Wines) will lead just 22 enthusiasts on a unique sensory experience as they explore a stunning array of renowned wines.
Guests will have the opportunity to engage with the winemakers through a series of intimate Q & A sessions and masterclass-style tastings, set on the deck of the Orpheus Pavilion bar.
Across three afternoons, Kym, Tom, and Larry will share their personal philosophies and insights into Australian wine regions, grape varietals and winemaking styles. As evening falls resident Head Chef Arie Prabowo will create an awe-inspiring degustation menu, paired to the winemaker of the day’s favourite drops.
The event will be hosted by well-known Melbourne wine raconteur, Peter Marr. “We’ll have a wonderful time unravelling the treasures of these gifted winemakers and the wines and regions they so brilliantly represent. This event truly offers guests the ultimate in tropical escapism and vinous hedonism,” says Marr.
Package prices start from $7,700 for two guests, and include:
Four nights tropical beachfront accommodation
